home again.

I realized that I haven't written anything about Christmas in my blogs! I've been so preoccupied with finishing college and figuring out life. But yay, Christmas is here! I'm excited. I like seeing the huge tree in my house and listening to holiday music and seeing my family get along. I always miss my friends, though. I'm lucky this year; one of my boys is having a Christmas party and my best friend is coming to stay with me tomorrow so we can go and spend time with people we love. This break will be busy and short: I am going to the party, hopefully seeing some of my friends at home, then Christmas Eve/Christmas with neighbors and family, then Rich & Allie's wedding on the 27th, then to Radiate in DC on the 28th. After that's over I'll be heading back to school to figure out the job situation (a.k.a. whether or not I still have a job-- ugh) and my life will be there working until people come back for the spring semester. I'm just praying for God to bless all of this and make me have a calm heart through all of it. He knows I need to stay on top of that. Sometimes I just lose my mind and choose not to control what I do. But then I read things like this:

"Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it and repent." - Revelation 3:2-3

I like the verses about waking up to what our lives really are and what they are supposed to be about. It always makes me think of this verse in Ephesians:

"Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." (5:14)

I'm praying to stop falling asleep so much.
