You know what I just realized? I've gotten everything I ever wanted one way or another. A new car, a new computer, education, best friends, a house to grow up in placed in a neighborhood that I love, a guitar. Whether it be material things or substance for living, it has been given to me because the Lord has blessed me. I found this verse a couple nights ago and it really spoke to me:
"... give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown You and say, 'Who is the Lord?' Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.'" -proverbs 30:8
It's a reminder that keeps me grounded and not caught up in what I might think is important for a moment. Because the Bible clearly states that the things of this earth will fade away and will not last. If all my things were to disappear tomorrow, what would my happiness be found in? I can honestly say it's not in Sangria (my car, not the drink) or Mac. It's in the Lord my God. Praise Him for that.
